I made a reconstruction of assumptions and facts going back to the 'rationalism' of 17th century Enlightenment, then to 20th century 'rationality' behind world wars, then back to ancient Aristotle as source of The God Universe (metaphysics or ratio).
Revealing the hidden conceptual scheme.
A shocking insight in the Catholic Western Paradigm (creationism, split of mind and body).
Many cultures (like Zen Buddhism) don't make radical divide between mind and body.
But mind/body dualism is since Aristotle and Alexander the Great the hidden conceptual scheme that
catholicism (priests telling us what is 'normal', as practicioners of 'normal science') almost totally integrated into Western culture.
Nietzsche: There are no facts, only interpretations. Henk Tuten: Bodies don't respond to 'facts' (words), bodies respond to sensory input with preset behavior (in DNA) and via conceptual schemes (rituals, religions, sciences,...) physically conditioned behavior.

(1) normal science often suppresses fundamental novelties because they are necessarily subversive of its basic commitments
(2)New [..] paradigms require reconstruction of earlier assumptions and reevaluation of earlier facts. This is difficult and time consuming. It is also STRONGLY resisted by the established community ('law and order').

Aristotle, through Alexander the Great, TEMPORARILY changed the course of world history
Man's strength is the ability to operate as 'culture', despite own perspective on reality.
DNA is limiting, but humans started sharing experience and training in experiencing. Paradigms, Ways of Life
Ways of Life for humans since many thousands of years started as
ritual, religion, science, ...(conceptual schemes).
A ritual way of life becomes a rigid dominant (major) paradigm when a whole culture
starts living this way for ages as the way things are.
Fighting fellow beings as 'terrorists' when they experience another the way things are.
Not realizing anymore that their the way things are follow deepfrozen standpoints (fundamentalism).
Every culture uses some dominant conceptual scheme (belief) to get grip on reality.
In the Western World the dominant scheme became 'rationality', using 'rational logic (ratio) got the name 'understanding'.
'Understanding' is arrogance disguised: aiming at selfmade truth (law) and pretending to aim at THE Truth.
Start 21st century the 'outlaws' outside the western world with emotion attack the absolutism 'understanding' in the American
and European 'nation states' (ego-ism formalized in nationalism).

The current highly threatening worldwide economic crisis linked to a environmental crisis indicates
that our Aristotelian way of life dominated by 'mind' (with a split between 'mind' and body, between 'understanding' and life)
in the end became anti life.
The strength of Europe was limiting individualism, pure individualism was banned and became the strength of the US. Especially since WWI both ways centered
around individualism (ego-ism).
We need a major paradigm shift beyond Aristotle, Aquinas, Calvin, Descartes, Kant, Popper.
Aristotle started the western tradition of dividing reality in 'perfect model' = metaphysics (inherently also a perfect logic = ratio) and 'trial and error' = physics.
This is known as dualism or creationism, seeing
metareality as sum of perfect parts of human design instead of humans as part of reality.
In similar way popes divide reality in : the kingship of god (the divine structure)
and the kingship of man (the primacy of the person over things).
Of course there is repetition in reality (useful in engineering), but presuming a human made model in social life
easily results in things like 'rationalism', fundamentalism, 'law and order'.
Seeing 'structure' as 'god' is harmless, but describing 'structure' as eternal human law, is a
bit overestimating the role of humans in space.
Western.Paradigm.=.Virtual.Reality
Like.always.in.history the wizards of the dominant fiction (pharisees, scientists, politicians,...)
will defend their cut and paste positions, instead of changing standpoint.
Getting used to a new major paradigm (a wider reality) is daily training (doing, doing and doing; experience).
It's not about 'understanding'. 'Understanding' is 'running in circles' in
the 'old' paradigm.
The wider reality 'answers' old problems. 'Shifting' paradigm is easier if the old paradigm is in deep recession.
