The Middle East cultures, from Persia (Iran) to Egypt, though always 'in war', are strongly connected through history. It was Alexander theGreat/theCursed who completely disrupted the Middle East cohesion. Alexander took over the Acheamenid Persian Empire empire (no conquest, just many raids with mass murder, robbery of slaves and riches around 3 ages BC). The Aristotelian part of Greek Culture was totally alien to the Middle East, though in result (power) also extremely attractive. The Mediterranean part of Alexanders Empire was taken over by the Roman Empire (say 1 age BC), that was drenched with Alexander-admiration. Greek and Roman culture considered a harsh type of slavery as law of nature. The chief difference, however, between the Greek and Roman view of slavery is that the Greeks regarded the slave as labourer and industrial necessity, while the Romans used slaves chiefly for personal pleasures. In Israel the slave-fate was not that harsh. Persian Zoroastrianism even forbade slavery.
Slavery in the Middle East was complex and not at all like the chattel slavery practiced in Greece and elsewhere.

After death of Caesar, Roman people either supported Mark Antony or Octavian. Cleopatra watched until she thought Mark Antony was going to win. She then started to support Antony and even fell in love with him. She misjudged the paranoid hatred in Rome against unfamiliar cultures (paradigm paralysis: always easily convinced to start 'wars on terrorism'). Octavian cleaverly as part of his campaign declared war against Antony and Cleopatra.
Antony and Cleopatra lost the Egyptian Navy and Army to the Romans. After a siege Octavian in 30 B.C. started to invade Egypt. An egoist Hellenist/Roman version (Roman Christianity) of Judean Zoroastrianism (Jesus worship)
Palestinian skilled craftsmen for 70 years worked in Babylon (deported with the Royal family). His 'brothers' were sons of his stepfather Joseph.
Jesus learned from his Zoroastrian teachers in Egypt to see the country wide Hebrew sect as divided in Samaritan and Judean. On most official English websites from Israel I got the impression that King Herod was a great leader who founded Israel, mixed Hellenic culture with Jewish religion and scholarship to produce fine wisdom and literature.

but even for Samarian standards he was IMMENSELY cruel. His popular 'works' that I remember are massive torturings of Judean leaders, lots of beheadings of Judean leaders, and starving whole Judean leading families to death.

Book of Zerubbabel (Ezra 1-6): The first group of returned refugees was led by Sheshbazzar, who had been appointed governor of Judea. He may have been the son of Jehoiachin, Judah's king in exile (Zedekiah had been blinded by order of Nebukadnezzar). Sheshbazzar and the first group of returnees succeeded in relaying the foundations of the temple, but then the work broke off.
The most productive return was led by Zerubbabel, a leader from the line of Solomon, in 522 B.C.E. near the beginning of the reign of Darius. The most significant event of this period was the finishing the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem in 515 BC. This temple is called 'The Second Temple', the one built by Solomon was the first.
The rebuilding of the temple was opposed by Sanballat, leader of the Samaritans (kingdom of Israel), and Tobiah, leader of the Ammonites. They saw this as a threat to their power in the region. On various occasions they tried to stop the work, and they even tried several times to assassinate Nehemiah who led the construction work.
During the rebuilding male Judean Hebrews married Canaanite, Hittite, Ammonite, Moabite, and Egyptian women. To produce fine mix of humans from related to everybody from Turkey to Egypt. Asking for Jahwee's wrath in the eyes of the Samaritan pharisees (Israelian hebrews). During the reign of Augustus, the Romans with help of Israel got a powerful hold over Palestine.
Strong political alliances were forged with the Hellenized Jewish priests. Israelian King Herod was appointed by Roman Senate at the suggestion of Antony and with the consent of Octavian (Augustus). Roman Emperor Augustus rewarded Herod with Jericho, the coastal region south of Dor and the region east of the Sea of Galilee. for his loyalty. Later Herod was given the Bashan, Horen, and Tarchon regions, and three years later the Golan Heights. Herod was brave and skilled in war, learned, but also extremely suspicious and cruel. Jesus was born in a Palestine under rule of a hellinized King, and a thoroughly hellinized caste of priests. Jewish theology and philosophy until today remained rigidly Aristotelian Christian theology and philosophy became equally infected with Aristotelianism. The Dead Sea Scrolls were written between 200 B.C. and 68 A.D. They contain descriptions of Jewish myths in the shape of books for worship. Among other things every book of the OT except Esther. In rural Bethlehem with very little Hellenistic influence Jesus was educated in recent Zoroastrian Jewish culture. For him the OT was history as orally heard through his mother Mary. started I'm convinced with the virginal thinker MARY.Mary seems in some way to have preserved Zoroastrian ideas from the more than two ages that Judea was part of the Persian Empire. By 'immaculate' conception she got the abstract idea: all humans are equal, also men and women.
Mary educated her very talented son Jesus with her 'bubble of thought. That's why Jesus was a kind of saviour for women. Jesus might be seen as a friendly Ghostbuster (perfectly human in DNA). Much more like later described in Coptic language in Gnostic Christianity (a more tolerant belief). The Greek and Roman worlds were male worlds, and war was their reason of existence. In Europe the Roman Empire changed the political anti slavery message of Jesus into a state church that was pro slavery of non-christians (catholicism).

The Eastern Church differs from the Western because Romans believed in God the father AND halfgod the son, while the Byzantine Church (also called 'Constantine's Christianity' after Roman emperor Constantine ) teaches that there is a God the Father who inspired the god-like human Son. The more close to Gnosticism Egyptian and Syrian Christian religions (Coptic and Jacobite) never accepted the decree of Chalcedon. The Roman persecution of Coptics and Jacobites continued until the arrival of Mohammedanism. Mohammedanism promised toleration. Gnosticism is NOT 'nestorianism', a peculiar Syrian made compromise between Roman Christianity and Gnostic Christianity teaching that Jesus was both God and human. 615 - 628 'Mohammedanism' jumped in the gap left by the crumbled Eastern Empire of the Romans, resulting in constant war with Zoroastrian Persia Mohammed was born as member of the Qureish tribe. It makes more sense to see Mohammad as Arab 'Robber Baron' than as prophet. 634 - 650 Wealthy Persian Zoroastrians refused to become 'Mohammedan' and migrated to India. They settled in western India where they already had trading contacts, and established large settlements to the north of Mumbai, such as the one at Sanjan. Their descendants founded a Parsi community, reflecting their home land and home language. Parsis are still 0.02% of India's population, and were pioneers of Indian industry. Lesson of History
