The Value of Herbert Marcuse

seer 'Seeers' like Giambattista Vico, Friedrich Nietzsche, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Herbert Marcuse, are extremely valuable.
By 'stubborn' and very hard working on own views (without making unnecessary 'career adaptions'), and by being fine teachers they make very honest common sense observations.

For instance Marcuse stated: 'western world' =affluent society ; All industrial and technical capacities are used producing unproductive goods.
And as characteristics he noticed:
(1) a rising standard of living
(2) concentration of economic and political power, government intervention
(3) pseudo science; manipulation

Marcuse saw that this caused:
The conditions of mass society: the mass society achieves an oversocialization to which the individual reacts with all sorts of frustrations, repressions, aggressions, and fears which soon develop into genuine neuroses.
Sick behavior replaces in such a society naturalistic behavior, and it is considered normal.
Resulting in: (1) Production consumes practically all existing intellectual capabilities. This often causes hostility.
(2) Need of systematic manipulation and control (surplus repression). The affluent society militarizes.

Marcuse saw as reaction:
Life defends itself by using (sexual) agression to oppose this kind of society

Zarah2nd:
Life found a strong defender in Marcuse.
The value of Marcuse is that he offers a fresh view on The 'Rational' World.
By now Marcuse is taken seriously, because he reported in common sense.
Like a Common Sense War Journalist from the Rational Frontline
