| Ethics is the total of ritual behavior of ANY living entity, influenced or not by rules. Rituals are heavily influenced by local conditions. Therefore ethics also became the name for the total of rituals of all entities in some 'culture'. Abstract thinking multiplied the speed of till then 'Darwinian' evolution, say by a factor 1000. In direction evolution TOTALLY changed. Very RELIABLE physical variation influencing rituals now must compete with UNPROVEN very fast virtual rituals. |
Combining skill and common sense behavior for the first time could make humans ready for fighting a next ice age. EXTREME care, abstract ethics (like rationality) without limits finally ends in fascism!!
Consistent abstract logics (ethics) are effective in technology, but disastrous in social life.
Temporary standstill or only linear improvement temporarily happens when one set of rituals for a period of time gets dominant (period of absolutism, the counterpart of relativism). In the eye of that tornado things appear under control, and progress seems strong.
Neighbouring cultures are 'flattened' by Info War and by War on Terrorism. Some fight (IRA, ETA, Al Qaida), others get drugged.1 eye-openening example:
The Qing Dynasty ruled over all Chinese kingdoms. The Qing emperor was given amazing 'rights'.
In spite of brilliant achievements, the Qing rulers were arrogant
and despotic. Worse still, the Qing rulers persecuted many intellectuals,
having works that did not meet with their approval destroyed or banned .
The emperial government was not only immensely arrogant but also rigidly conservative.
Through its corrupt politics and conservatism, the Qing Dynasty after smashing start rapidly declined.
As its support weakened almost daily, the Qing government collected more taxes for paying the expenses of war. Taxes and cruelties became too much.

The United States looked another way, and was rewarded after WWII when Russian and British leaders looked away while the US colonized Japan, Korea, Philippines, New Guinee etcetera. | 3000-2000 years ago the 'brothers of wisdom' Zoroaster, Buddha and Jesus used common sense to replace in their part of human evolution power thinking with 'love' .
Each in own way they recognized that 'slavery' (the Law of the Fittest), was counterproductive.
This is meant by 'make love no war' or the 'power of love'.
This youngest essential addition to evolution in the 'Western World' got lost. Alexander the 'Great' annihilated Zoroastrianism in Persia.
Youngest 'brother' Jesus was executed, by Pharisees assisted by Romans. Only Zoroaster followed by Buddha together founded a strong Ch'an Buddhism in Asia.
Ages later Roman Christians made Mohammedanism a definitive 'mental wall' between East and West by fighting 'Crusades' with their relatives 'Muslims'. The Roman variant of Christianity (having Jesus and many of his disciples executed and without influence of Zoroastrianism and Buddhism) especially differed on the point 'slavery', and destroyed 2 other branches of Christianity (in Ukraine and in India). That is meant by 'lost love'.Only in Ethiopia a branch of original Christianity MIGHT have survived. Anyway Zoroastrianism triggered Judean Christianity (not the Israel variant) and heavily influenced Zen Buddhism. Relative Zen survived, and is ethically superior to skillful but ethically rigid Catholicism. That started in the dominant Western World a long period of confusion (see Christian World history). But 'unconditional love' proves strong, and will certainly be 'rediscovered'. This certainly explains the strong relation between 'sex' (very old part of evolution) and 'love' (very young addition).Time to join ethics and skill. |
In the language Dutch the plural 'organizations' is abbreviated to 'orgies'. That might be coincidence, but nevertheless very true.
In an organization the leader (alpha-male or alpha-female) is allowed to 'have sex' in a ritualized way with anyone
of the members. Such obedient members are called 'kontlikkers' (=ass suckers). By the way, 'bowing' in the animal world instead of lowering the head is done by offering the sex. But a queen inspecting arses must have been too embarrassing.
