Every model is a relative truth based on a limited
number of assumptions. And at present we reached the stage that most models only safely but in a tremendously complex way extend existing knowledge
in tiny steps. ![]() This model of the brain physically sees couples of neurons
either as free ready for use alive pixels or as minute parts of in HUGE life length connected living movies floating in some flexible clay-like brain soup (sticky stuff by insiders
called 'neuroglia' or 'nerve glue'), bagged in some sort of skin. Off course such living pixels need food to stay alive and grow, and that's why
there is also an abundance of flexible 'pipes': life supporting blood veins, transporting oxygen
and sugar. Broken blood streams make opening skulls of living beings is such a messy affair.
Synapses are just seen by me as tiny corridors extending from the
dendrites of neurons for connection to others. Brilliant Brains versus Rigid Robots Robots can already beat humans in things like speed, force, etcetera, but one has to admit for at least the next age not in the field of 'intelligence'. These artificial brains get too big when they even want to come close to brains. And they still are too slow, and consume way too much energy. ![]() Fighting between humans and androids for the next age is still slapstick between gigantic Neanderthal like skyscraper-size beings and mini sized two-legged beings with a complex integrated mind A new version David and Goliath. That will give nasty collisions, but traffic will proceed as normal. You realize a thing like this when at present you see a
piano concert in which a tiny genius of only 10 years old plays Mozart like many
adults still can't. And he is not a 'savant', but as well likes pop music and
sex. Because just like Neanderthals ages ago robots at the
moment lack enough fantasy combined with the skills and the speed to perform
very complex tasks. They are just lucky not to be in war with humans and only
to be asked for simple skill tournaments. Robots are forced to do sports that
don't ask for subtle skills, like a brute force variant of Sumo wrestling. It is very well possible that large numbers of tracks
of a brain movie are redundant. Brains are in the first place built to be
reliable and only in the second place to be efficient, but anyway they are
awfully complex. For every sense there are as many tracks as the brain has
connected sense areas. And what became recorded over the ages gradually grew in
complexity, since say 700 years decreased in variety, and also worldwide got more and more
monotonous. Brain versus Computer
![]() Every time I must laugh when on 'Discovery Channel' I see the ad of the AI specialist who says he can't sleep because of knowing that he creates life threatening but beautiful monsters. Beautiful; well if you like sand, life threatening; exaggerating became an art, monsters: I agree. Try to imagine a computer playing Mozart with feeling, maybe then you realize that human versus computer is still a far away fantasy. It's like fantasizing of having an interesting debate with your lawn mower. A PC is only a sophisticated new tool. Humans too are tools for 'fighting' reality, but of a totally different generation. Ancient Greeks would have considered the present relation between humans and computers as allpowerful Gods playing with awfully strong simple monsters. Impression3
Re-playing
ONE memory-track is like say smelling
only the singular smell on the track of the video of the received Sense Photo that was broadcasted by only 1
smell sub-sense. The total movie of all senses (the integrated mood) may
have around a hundred different of such Memory
Tracks (considering known sense areas I would estimate between 50 and 100).
Human
thinking is in my view working with some absolute concept of the local surroundings,
and extends this basic snapshot all the time in small discrete steps with flashes of insight. So it is semi continuous. Such a flash creates a Paradigmal Dimension Link.
Say a hundred individuals per century get at some time a link that was till
then totally uncommon between these two areas of information. A few of those
are used in Total 'Paradigm Shifts', that cause a revolution in thinking. That keeps
things going.
The basic concept
is locally stable (absolute) and only changed in tiny jumps (relative). A kind of
Yin and Yang of Existence.
Such
human minds got used to rap, i.e. videos with a visual part and a
sound part, that simulate a brain movie of say 20 tracks. I.e. the brain
translates a 2-track external visual movie in say a 20-track internal movie.
Not only brain movies make again complex models of by the senses simplified reality,
but they are also lifelong.
A
movie of 2 minutes length takes 3.5 MB on my pc. So a lifelong 2 dimensional
movie would take 30x24x365x80x3.5 MB, or about 60 million-MB, or 60.000
Gigabyte. With 50 dimensions that would make 3x100.000 Gigabyte. Our brain can
handle that much info easily, it even then is largely empty, so at least it
seems made for storing 3 x 1 million Gigabytes. That is 3 x 1012
bytes.
It
is estimated that brains might have 1011 neurons, so that would mean
when at 80 years still half of it is empty, then the rest has a storage
capacity of at least 10 bytes per neuron. Add to that the human brain is
supposed to be 1000 times faster than the fastest computer on earth. And that
it only uses an energy consumption that is around 12 Watt. Our fastest computer
needs as much energy as a medium sized factory. There is still some work to do
in Artificial Intelligence. Layers of Dust First let me say this, and certainly without any
arrogance. Sometimes a renewed overview by a dedicated complete outsider is
quite refreshing and useful in any research field. Although wakeful I'm really
terribly impressed by the knowledge gathered in the young and 'explosive'
science Brain Neurology. I was especially surprised about the advances made in
growing new body parts and in transplanting brains. BUT these advances are NOT
based on understanding, but on USING the enormous powers of the brain.
Many energy explosions tend to be directed and by
chance their shockwaves bury other concepts under thick layers of dust. After
'dusting' this can lead to suddenly uncovered new and promising concepts. Knowledge is a shape of energy too, only stored in an
accessible way. Brain Neurology and modern medicine in general acts
like knowledge bombs. In my view there is a good chance that the very
basics of our brain are astonishingly simple, comparable to chips in
computers. Because during evolution on the planet earth many complex beings
developed by further development of structures consisting only of extremely
simple prefabricated units. That made me think of the way of limiting complexity
as when producing fractals in math (using fractal engines), i.e. repetitive use
of simple rules resulting in dazzlingly complex results. Seen purely logically this model possesses all the
essences of a digital computer. Only it seems neurons might have not only 2 but
10 or more states. That's even better, this property makes that human brains
can be much smaller then equally performing digital computers. But I leave
elaborating this obvious idea to mathematicians. In the first half a my math study though I explored models with growing
number of states, and found unimaginable sizes resulting in amazing complexity by simplicity. It took me two months to show that my teacher had made a logic error
in calculating the size of the model for N=3!. But my report only took 3 pages. My teacher had a hard time in getting me a good mark, though I never again thought that hard. Monotony in Western World and Variety in Nature Monotony Variety Western Science Allow me to use a page to score one
point about the society built around Western science. This one of many
worlds of fantasy is full of sympathetic people, and SOME of them really try
hard to learn from their personal version of history, but IN ESSENCE general
behavior didn't change much after the lessons inherent in two world wars. Maybe
science should realize more the terribly important role that is has in the
developing and executing of wars. In past times wizards created spells to
weaken the enemy, but they were not awfully influential. In WWII they appeared
to have 'progressed' to creating atom bombs that were able to wipe away the
other camp. Without guys like Werner
von Braun and money sharks like IBM a dangerous psychopath like Hitler
would have had much less threat. And additionally you should realize that some
government force in the U.S. kept Von
Braun away from the military court of law. Von Braun was the responsible scientist behind the German V2
rockets in WW II. For lesser crimes enough people were sentenced to death. And thousands of sharks and whales would have appreciated
the same forgiving treatment
Hitler
thought that he represented the German race, and Von Braun thought that he spoke for science or for all of humanity.
One of them was at least voted for. I won't judge about Von Braun who before he could decently speak English already was
made head of NASA, and neither about Einstein
who initiated scientific research for the first atom bombs. Einstein would later describe his spontaneous offer to help the U.S. president Franklin Delano Roosevelt in this mission to win WWII as the biggest mistake of his life Both Soviet Russia and the U.S. scooped up German
top-scientists on their way to victory in Berlin. Mislead top-scientists easily
can make an enormous difference, because 99% of humans are as ammunition of
evolution merely followers. 'Terrorist' Views Like any new model should, my model uses known research, and also leaves room for alternative
views on things. My one and only intention was to create a much simpler
model than the existing dominant one. This should be a new motivation to try to
research brain functions that use more complexity. Only trying to attain that wanted simplicity forced me to use
known concepts in an unusual way. But anyway just in order to be accepted any model should
at least be equal in general performance to existing models. I
show that this new model is, in to me known cases, consistent with the existing dominant
concept. I.e. I simulate 'continuity' in science, by only making a relatively
small unintuitive jump in thought.
I.e. they were mathematical, used undefined difficult
words, presumed knowledge of implicit models etc. All in all, they were
detailed and almost appeared to forbid entering to outsiders, even to someone
like me who used to be a modest math wizard, and a good amateur in both physics
and chemistry. Once there were times that practicing science in
mystical ways used to be enough to be burned at the stakes. But in those times
being a scientist (wizard) still in general by politics was given a low social
status. 'Normal Thinking' (Dual) is like a persisting Dream Formal Scientific articles without doubt were only meant for other
still active wizards, and those might be expected to be familiar with the most
recent top 100 of popular spells. One wizard from the same period may
understand another, but WHAT if a pensioned wizard comes along from another
culture? Using a dated top 100 of his own culture he might rightfully interpret
the spells as being nonsense and thus be incapable to recognize the mighty
scientific talents owned by their users. In the time of King Arthur most wizards used to be
wise persons, open for critical suggestions. What happened to wisdom that
scientists wearing white coats mostly only evoke a carefully cultured
respectful silence?
No harm meant, but playing wizard was also used by a
well-known semi-religious American fascist organization, and for the same
purpose of creating fear and trying to be impressive. Off course surely formal science doesn't aim at
evoking fear, but sure it as well creates distance and tries to look
impressive. Is that method in essence awfully different from ones used for
totally different purposes? A chameleon uses bright colors to trigger opponents
to show submissive behavior, scientists in general do the same by using mighty
spells.
Atom Bombs It may seem totally unconnected but a similar attitude
mid 20th century resulted in abstracting so far from real society
that it became possible to drop nuclear bombs killing thousands of people, ONLY
as a message of terror. The first bomb said in thundering voice: I'm the boss. The second bomb added
totally unnecessary: And don't dare even
to doubt this message. The World Power that got away with this criminal
act, at present almost by itself defines terrorism and organizes a war on terrorism.
Mid 20th
century leading scientists let
themselves be used by politics, but to let that happen they first had to become
totally disorientated from society. To get them that far it was enough though to give them
the opportunity to play well paid their favorite game an important looking
top-secret research lab in some far away desert. It's like giving an addicted
chess-player the opportunity to play a match. Balancing Technological Knowledge (Skill) and Social Wisdom I know in-depth research is inevitable, but it also
generally favors drilling very deep narrow holes at similar kind of indicated
places, mainly driven by the hope (!) only of finding oil or whatever on the
bottom. Drilling deep and doing general research should be more in balance. But
finding oil sooner than others means more research funding to drill even
deeper. In South Africa commercial companies decided to dig
for diamonds on 5.000 meters depth. This is to outrun nationalizing plans of
their government, but in other African countries they might almost scoop up
diamonds without such huge investments. Nationalism is still mighty strong.
We have learned more about brains in the last ten
years of our existence than during billions of years in our whole evolution.
Still our knowledge stayed very limited. Being an ignorant outsider my model
necessarily is mainly a logical view, and not based on any research. That's not
being unnecessary modest, because after my university years most sciences
rapidly changed for me in impressive cultures of knowledge. Illusion I learned one thing from the crime sequence 'Columbo'.
That is that you can't tell much about a profession based on only speech,
clothing and habits. That's why something in me waves a red flag when seeing
the building of strongholds of science that only squeeze old concepts another
time. Such impressive castles become filled with people talking like wizards,
and dressed in long white coats or breasted gray costumes. I know all too well
that this is no guarantee at all for being fresh and original, just like posing
in the posture of the sculpture 'the Thinker' of the famous French artist Rodin
is not more than only creating the illusion of deep thinking.
Consistent use of basic neurological knowledge (this
is at present within reach on Internet to everyone with a connected pc) leads
in this article to a totally new view on elementary brain neurology. And to a
model that uses the basic simplicity that is found in products of by far, far,
far the oldest, most reliable, most imaginative and most innovative firm on
earth: Evolution Incorporated (mostly just called 'evolution'). This Model I'm aware that not all known knowledge about the brain
might match my model. But exactly the ambitious young and fast developing
science Neurology taught me that we all mainly see what we WANT TO SEE. When
men imagine the silhouette of a sexy female, then in different cultures the
perfect shape appears to be quite different. And humans don't appear at all
sexy to for instance sharks. These are only observed getting sexually aroused
after eating a dead whale, because of feeling sleepy and thus relaxed. I.e.
most of our observations are largely fantasies of western human minds. But that
means as well that I'm not EASILY convinced by wishful 'contradictory'
observations. They might be result of 'hush hush' research that stimulates
fantasy. Knowledge 'closely' related to my model is the forming
of ice crystals in 'dendritic' or treelike growth. Only forget about the
supposed rigidity of crystalline structures. At high enough temperatures these
are like rubber or water. At usual temperatures on the surface of earth brains
are like flexible clay. But maybe crystallized deep frozen brains can through
super conductivity think much faster, just like nitrogen cooled computers. Movie analogies for properties of DNA are popular, but
in the related area 'brain' not yet on Internet. Yet words taken from movie
technology offer strong tools for getting firm grip in this area of knowledge,
as I'll show. That's not surprising, because when humans build robots these
have a kind of cameras that function as eyes. Cameras are the human fantasy of
eyes. In this article I explore in a structured way the
consequences of my brainwave. And I try to trigger discussion by posing
that my elementary model quite elegantly explains existing brain knowledge. It
is also to my knowledge NOT obviously inconsistent with any known observation
about the human brain. I invite everybody to shoot solid holes in my model, not
tiny ones but BIG openings. Warnings A first warning: I CHOOSE not to
distinguish a multitude of different neuron types. That makes model making in
my opinion unnecessarily difficult. My guess is that neurons before developing
further all largely are the same, and only possibly diversify in the womb
during developing of the brain. I also purposely show only abstract pictures because (as known from neurology) visual images heavily influence what is actually seen during research. That's also why I purposely avoid further special referencing of neural networks, because when creating this model I for a long time didn't think at all about this kind of modeling. That is not meant to discredit mathematical modeling, but acknowledging that our brains easily get tricked into only extending known concepts. In human eyes the world was seen as flat for ages, but that didn't hinder us at all. That is result of using other brain functions to fill in information, and thus when looking being capable of producing an acceptable mental 'picture'. Modeling that way resembles dreaming. For instance of many persons we encounter we only remember a vague silhouette. We are artists in zooming in and zooming out. Most of the time when not concentrating we immediately forget most of what we perceived. Focusing is an important ability. This can be
said of all perceptions, and especially of perceptions making use of abstract
concepts. Because abstract concepts are born without necessarily using sense
perception, and afterwards particular sense perceptions tend to get used for
proof (so it's not the abstract idea but the 'translating' of it into a sense
perception that plays 'false'). Abstract views can be bravely defended like a
fundamentalist religion WITHIN a system of thought, but outside immediately become
relative. That's why education should result in open minded students. But I
keep believing in progress through mind shaking explanatory paradigm shifts).
When abstract
models are kept flexible by staying away from becoming 'religions' (like for
instance Newtonian science, and at present certain ideas in Neurology), they
can be quite useful and might survive a couple of paradigms Existing neuron knowledge Neurons (another name for nerve cells)
are cells that carry information in the brain. Neurons have special projections
called dendrites and axons. Dendrites receive and bring information to the
neuron cell body, in the shape of electrochemical signals. These are combined in the cell body,
generating an impulse that travels down the axon. Impulses cause the release of
neurotransmitter substances into the synapse. Hundreds to thousands of synapses
grow like hairs on dendrites.
For communication between neurons to
occur, an electrical impulse (information traveler) must travel down an axon to
its information departure terminal. This connects to the arrival terminal of
another neuron (through narrow Links
thousand times thinner than hairs, and called synapses). Editing Be aware that between the observed object and final
information storage all stages are simulated. So be sure that what you see is
NOT what you get. The information traveler that finally rests in several
sleeping rooms has been divided and 'copied' several times. An occupied chamber
makes a copy of the rest of this traveler and like in 'Star Trek' a 'beamed'
(telecommunicated) image of this residue appears in the next chamber. You only
may hope that assemblage is done properly.
3 ways of cultural
assembling: dog, cat or mouse
Info Linking Synapse connections hold two neurons together by
linking dendrite to axon, a miniature simulation of the joining of two huge space
stations.
Every part of the human brain is made of billions of such super tiny octopus resembling space stations. Each of these neurons can have connections to thousands of other neurons. Thus this only half-occupied brain is creating complex communication patterns like in a big town, only much faster. Think of the light pattern made by one of such towns when a slow movie of it is shown at high speed The earth seen at night from space at Christmas is a lot simpler. Top brain surgeons do a job at least as difficult as engineering for NASA. For you to read this, millions of circuits of such octopus neurons search through their axon arms for related memory information. As known to insiders brain neurons on an individual level create populations or systems, by way of locking one axon through synapses to one dendrite of another neuron Why pairs of 2 neurons? I realized that most of the
human body consists of duo parts. Like lungs, brains, arms, legs etc. Associative Behavior
The keyword of this model is: associative behavior Seen that way, what the philosopher and mathematician
Ludwig Wittgenstein named 'a closed circle of thought' can as well be applied
to individuals. Then every individual is a closed system of thought. Differences between 2 persons are much bigger than
they commonly think. Two individuals can influence each other only if their
'influence circles' overlap then, but each in the own circle (and off course
being mentally 'healthy') is totally independent. When 2 people become regular partners then when they
are in each other's surroundings gradually their 2 circles merge and their
reactions get tuned, just like women living in the same house grow together in
period. An amazing phenomenon is that individuals get in some
way tuned to their surroundings. Those who are most talented in this on the
other side have more difficulty with traveling. That is because those fit for
traveling interpret less and fantasize more. I remember that for me a room in a
foreign hotel didn't feel much different from my own bedroom. I used it most of
the time for fantasizing (planning) and sleeping. And when away in foreign
countries I used to just temporarily 'forget' my friends and properties at
home. My new friends felt like my only friends. Like in hypnosis a kind of
temporarily blocking of certain memories. Associating is like focusing. Try to imagine following. There are 5 pictures of thought with many links.
Only 5 links go to the same different picture of thought. Then intuition prefers this picture of thought.
In similar way very long preferred paths develop Associative Bagage
Sometimes in a flash you realize that others interpret
your actions completely in their own way. They feel hurt when you wanted to
comfort, they feel ashamed when you feel pride, etc. You chose being with those
who make you feel comfortable, those who only need a few words to grasp what
you mean. One moment you are 'in love' with some person, and the next moment
you feel hatred.
A culture or society (or paradigm) is like a bag full
of bulbs. The merging is less tight than in case of regular pair of overlapping
circles, but nevertheless it is there. Bulbs that came from other bags but
happened to turn up in a for them foreign bag are slowly integrated. For a long
time they are loose balls of energy in a bag full of mainly integrated ones. It's amazing that humans and animals learned to find a
way of communicating inside and between cultures. They became complicated '
machines' specialized in handling repetition. Evolution is Fuzzy Sure there must be mistakes in evolution. It must be a
process that moves in zigzag motion, a few steps ahead, a few steps less back
again and then anew ahead. But in both directions that can involve millions of
years. At the moment humanity seems temporarily to show progression, but be
sure that this can be followed by a huge setback. Are apes really far away from humans? No, after the
next ice age they might very well become the dominant species, and treat humans
like pets. And Orwell made probable in his novel '1984' that this role it could
as well be taken by pigs. It seems easier to share complete fantasies
(constructs of pure thought), than empirical experiences. It may sound strange
but pure fantasies seem to leave less room to diverge in mood. They are way
closer to the aimed for mood. In sharing fantasies you both try to accomplish
the evoked moods, while personal reactions to the same experience may result in
totally different moods. That's the working of stories like fairytales, satires
etc. These aim at realizing a certain mix of feelings, instead of hoping that
all readers will react exactly the same way to a description of an action.
Model Visualized Let's forget about existing models about the brain. They are way too difficult
Imagine tiny
Memory
Tracks consisting of closed sequences of only neurons that form cyclic
constructs. Such a Memory Track comes
in only two states: EMPTY or FULL. And in EMPTY state it only consists of 2
doubly linked neurons (that's why I propose the name tweuron). In the analogy of a virtual sense camera: Every connected
Memory Track contains only one
'frozen' track of about 1/50 second of the final say 75-track total sense movie. So in length and width a fraction of the whole movie. Seen as part of
the simple gray structure above only one tiny cube.
Such a
Memory
Track can store sense information. The more information, the bigger becomes
this minute living database. The more info in the movie, the bigger in size the
track (but not its duration). Each participating neuron in such a 3-dimensional
cycle or Memory Track can store some
amount of information, and each Memory
Track can instantly grow in number of neurons. Usually such a circuit
consists of thousands of neurons in units of two, like a short movie contains
many single images. Our senses seem to have a frequency of observing, so every
second they send around 50 Sense Photos
of sense information. Mind that I presume that when data exceeds capacity of the last neuron in the chain than instantly the Memory Track grows with one unit. So when the last neuron is filled then chemically the next duo is pulled into the chain of this Memory Track. Tweuron So it is ESSENTIAL that in my model not a single neuron is the construction unit of the brain, but that role is given to the Tweuron. Like hydrogen consisting of atoms H or molecules H2. And the brain is in my view filled with EMPTY Tweurons (or Neuron2) and further with FULL 1 dimensional Memory Tracks of each 1/50 second duration. Such tracks are continuously fired by every sub-sense.
An almost impossible to observe phenomenon if you're not particularly searching for it. That common sense observation combined with the also common sense phenomenon 'you'll find what you're looking for' is explanation enough why this wasn't discovered (a culture or paradigm is like looking through your own filter) . Because in the present dominant brain concept such pair forming is just not used and in 'filtered' known research gives no different results. In a non Christian culture to recognize a man and wife
as being married is equally difficult, if you have no gender related concept
'wedding'. Certainly if you don't recognize the concepts 'man' and 'wife' but
are used to two-gendered species, or colonies with only one queen. Model in Hotel Analogy (for only once seeing Sense Photos as information travelers): Chemicals, called 'neurotransmitters', then straight arrive at the dendrite of another neuron (see them as intelligent active passports organizing formalities for their info traveler for its stay in a Memory Track hotel. Such hotels are fully automated, and have no employees). It only takes a smell to make you THINK your friend is near, faking presence of personnel is easy. That way when the size of an information traveler is to big for the last room in the chosen Memory Track hotel, this hotel immediately grows only one unit of 2 more rooms. All rooms in this hotel chain have a name with in it Neuron. For instance S3-MT1.000.123-Neuron555. I.e. room 555 of Memory Track Hotel-1.000.123 on destination-3 of operator SIGHT. If the information traveler doesn't fit completely in the hotel, then the last Neuron-room together with the first one 'pulls' an uninhibited nearby pair of Neurons from space in the hotel chain by 'clicking' through synapses axon to the next dendrite, to create more room for this traveler. Like an expending space hotel. The residue of the guest is automatically 'beamed' (telecommunicated) to this brand-new just installed room.
Hotel Rules 1) Every Memory Track hotel is FULL after having lodged one integrated traveler coming from one operator. The telecommunication splitting process of this total info tourist is only stopped after storage in this hotel (in pieces). All Memory Track hotels have a joint central desk somewhere on the island BRAIN. At this desk you can ask for a holographic sound movie of the complete guest. Outside the hotel only holographic tourists crowd the island, so 'cutting' the guests to pieces equal to the Neuron capacity doesn't bother. And already this split up guest is only an at least 2nd grade simulation triggered by the real total information tourist somewhere on earth. 2) The measured number of telephone calls from different connections decides the popularity of the guest. First the main desk makes the connection, and following times you can call directly through the created Paradigmal Dimension Link. The holographic simulation, of any of the billions of guests on the huge island, as constructed at the main desk has a quality depending on this number of links. 3) This hotel (in fact every room) after one arrival immediately changes from status EMPTY to FULL, and is not used as available hotel another time. 4) One of 5 travel agencies on holiday-island BRAIN is SIGHT. SIGHT only sends individual travelers. These are sent to the first EMPTY hotel of the Memory Track hotel chain. Maybe SIGHT keeps record of the hotel of the last sent tourist. And to get an impression of the total SIGHT sensation on BRAIN ask impression of all travelers of the different destinations on this island. And then SIGHT on this island has minimally 5 competitors of which each has also several own destinations and is using the same hotel chain. 5) These are SOUND, SMELL, TASTE and TOUCH. In fact all four treat simultaneously a different dimension caused by the very same total information traveler. It is even said (in 'Crime Scenes' on Discovery) that when given a large enough piece of its smell (a smell picture) the computer at the central desk can reconstruct a total holographic movie of the original decomposed tourist. And a totally new competitor ABSTRACT CONCEPTS just started business.
6) A
holographic model from one total information tourist uses data from all the
guest-cards of all used hotels of the operators SIGHT, SOUND, SMELL, TASTE,
TOUCH and ABSTRACT CONCEPTS. Model as Fractal Engine This constitutes the basics of my model, and
similarity with the mathematical fractal engine is striking. Such an engine
starts with only simple rules in a 'point'. Then an ever more complicate
fractal crystal is built and actual growth really speeds up through continuous
forming of new crystals.
(1)
An
existing crystal
is seen as a
Memory Track having a closed sequence of possibly thousands of
filled neurons,
(2)
Growth
of the existing crystal
as pulling an adjacent
Tweuron into the existing
Memory Track. (over and over again). Especially athletes are 'good' in it.
This is the relatively long 'absolute' phase.
(3)
Start
of building a new crystal as connecting of an
existing Memory Track to a distant
Memory Track to, by way of an
Paradigmal Dimension Link (a sensory pathway). This is the very short 'relative'
phase.
Fit with existing knowledge
Once
[the next Tweuron
is] attached, different neurotransmitters
either trigger "go" signals that allow the message to be passed to
the next neuron in the communication line. Until then they produce "stop"
signals that prevent the message from being forwarded. The signals are in the
form of charged particles or ions.
Through experimenting neurologists got the insight that when someone is learning something new, neurons actually grow moreParadigmal Dimension Links of different length to reach further away circuits. Repetition strengthens such connections. With 100 trillion possible connections, your brain is probably the most complex structure on earth. On another scale Internet can be seen as a simpler but similar structure, only living on electricity instead of sugar and oxygen. While writing this article whenever I needed additional information I indirectly docked my brain to that of my reliable friend "the web". Fit Sight To make things seemingly more difficult, but in fact much
more easy an eye is divided in thousands of facets. Just like in case of a
television or computer screen every point transmits only one single color. I.e.
it transmits a light wave on a single frequency. Every single facet is
connected to the brain. It needs only to store the frequency of its light wave.
And its own frequency of emitting takes care that every emitted signal (I
think) can be stored in one Neuron. Imagine that all those signals are stored in 1
Memory Track. Then that track contains a
sequentially stored picture of thousands of pixels, and represents sight for
1/50 second. Related tracks might contain information about position of the
eyes, focus and all that is needed for interpreting a picture. As we know from
spy satellites the making of pictures is not awfully difficult, but it is a
hell of a job interpreting them Humans became in evolution masters in pattern
recognition, i.e. given say 5% of thousands of such pixels they can generally
already recognize the final result. They often use this ability to prevent
becoming tired of processing all visual incoming information. During the
process of receiving a picture they soon switch to a known simulation.
(or said another way: creates a cartoon of visual surroundings). That
must be done in an incredibly fast and sophisticated way. In this way our eyes can
concentrate on changes, and absorb info for the next drawing in the cartoon. A few times they make mistakes, but then they don't
even realize it. Fit other senses Hearing, Feeling, Smell and Taste are similar to sight
and create audio pictures, touch pictures,
smell pictures and taste pictures, only the frequencies are different.
Audio pictures are used by many fishes, and seem to be more accurate than the
visual ones. If you can hear that well, then visual sight is not necessary.
Dogs and cats have superb hearing, they can hear and situate digging moles. But
when blind even they still are a little handicapped. That indicates that water
conveys sound waves better than air, and that many fishes use this advantage. Dogs prove that smell pictures are amazingly accurate.
Taste and Touch pictures seem to take a
closer relation. Especially 'Touch' pictures are in discussion, because these
became much used in Asian medicine. Because the frequencies in 'Touch' emotions
are very low, they are less accurate than Hearing, Feeling and Smell. Big animals
like elephants prove that sounds with low frequencies reach far. Possibly
'Touch' works as well when not touching Paul KleeThat way you might get used to visual presentations of
for instance smell emotions. Seeing things like this the remark 'a tasty
person' suddenly gets a more 'visual' meaning. Maybe there's a market for taste
porn. Only some clients would like to eat the models. Smart guesses
These flashes start in an empty circuit (tweuron) and
make it expand in the direction of the flash for a relatively long interval of
time. Only the first and the last neuron in this path survive, thus creating an
information corridor that only
connects the two information circuits
at its two ends. The neurons in the links that are established during a
flash become overheated and lose ability to store info and to make new
connections to neighboring neurons. That way a continuous noiseless
'thunderstorm' in the brain (brainstorm) creates continuously passive Paradigmal Dimension Links through lightning
like flashes of insight. How is still a mystery (but see for an attempt to
logical explanation paragraph 7 of this article). This was only purely a smart guess, but evident is
that knowledge that absolutely could not be related today, suddenly is without
any doubt related the next day. Question is only can the speed of deriving such
insight be increased by training, chemicals or temperature, or is increasing of
insight pure chance? Said another way: is education similar to independent
growth of synapses or does education actively trigger creating of Paradigmal Dimension Links, or both? A brain lobe is a group of neurons that seem to
perform in a similar manner. My guess is that each brain lobe is connected to
one or more sense organs to treat some part of the sense information. That way
they seem to function different but that is only caused by their input. This
input may vary in things like frequency and amplitude. Possibly that's the
simple way by which senses can filter incoming information. Obviously during evolution a logical partition of the
brain was experimentally found. And also obviously senses have their own
frequency, producing a continuous sequence of blocks of information of around
1/40 of a second. That's why movies
with a picture frequency of 50 per second seem completely continuous. All it
further takes is some very well possible chemical filtering of the amplitudes. Rythm of the Time The continuous overall storm in the brain might be
also be seen as 'rythm of the time'.
Because different brains of the same age share a lot of filled sense movies, or memories. These
experiences may cause a kind of vibes when re-used (remembered). People are
equipped to share those vibes. That's what they probably mean when saying of
being 'on the same frequency' with someone.
Fit with Know How Hemispheres
Tasks in the right and left part of the brain are rather independent.
Might it be that because there is little or no possibility to link areas on
either side with each other? So 'flashes in 'brain storms' seldom cross the
natural border in the middle. This split was elegantly used during evolution to
keep very different processes away from each other. Moods
, whatever that may be, do exist. It seems like sense experiences being
'translated' into a sense simulation (mix of feelings or mood). The resulting
feeling may then trigger responses. Moods are the subject of Art, artists try with all
their power to capture a particular mood. They really deserve more attention in
the physical corner of science. Similarity
and uniqueness brains
In structure all human
brains are similar, but every individual brain is unique. That is consistent
with brain flashes occurring between two brain areas mainly by chance, and not
much influenced by those areas itself. Abstract
notions in the human mind function similar.
An important step in our evolution was that we developed a special part of our
brain to store abstract feelings. Possibly before they just got lost. A stone
of some shape can trigger the Memory Tracks related to the concept
'rectangular'. Using only ellipsoid and rectangular shapes in this article I
made a picture that looks without doubt human. One can even wonder if this way a brain 'processor' of
some kind is really necessary. A mood seems to trigger only certain Memory Tracks and via this circuit
others, such a circuit might trigger a part of the body. Maybe the mood that represents the abstract number 1
triggered the abstract concept behind the making of a number system. If a
chameleon could recognize abstract concepts, then it could show different
colors related to numbers. Fit Psychology
Dreams
are like varying on a musical theme. It is replaying in different ways of a
particular thunderstorm in your brains. And simulating the visual triggers.
Sometimes that way a shortcut is found, and in a flash you realize more than
before. This model in theory explains why hypnosis can recover memories. The more memory links the stronger the memory signal. Hypnosis removes a lot of sense white noise, and that's why otherwise not heard signals now get relatively a lot stronger. The mystery is only how hypnosis succeeds in letting you replay particular part of a sense movie, not in removing background noise and focusing concentration. But the state of hypnosis 'only' helps your brain to recapture what already was recorded. They serve as 'system analysts' and programmer for your brain. Hypnotists are generally aware that they provide help in focusing, but only ASSIST your brain in letting away a lot of superfluous sense information and in selective replaying. Some people are under hypnosis sensitive for commands.
But the clue is here that a lot of humans ARE sensitive for being hypnotized.
In that condition they fully simulate reality and that's why they can be
brought in a mood to perform seemingly
weird commands. But this only shows that their their real surroundings are only
a not vere exciting part of their much bigger fantasy world.
hallucination Evolution Narcosis The gradually disappearing of
awareness might be explained by blocking more and more Paradigmal Dimension Links to the Sense
Organs. That explains also the often-observed hallucinations, because fantasies
replace real sense information. Narcosis and hypnosis are not more than just forms of
sleeping. I.e. by ways involving relaxation blocking most of the continuous
stream of 'real' sense information, and going into fantasy mode. Some performers are known to 'suppress' pain by
thinking really hard about something pleasant. That way they don't totally
block Dimension Links to their
senses, but succeed to disregard all information sent by the pain sensors. Individual Consciousness First let me say that Individual Consciousness
might be one of the best-succeeded fantasies in Western Rationalism. Different
concepts are found in many cultures. As I see it Consciousness ranges from
Group Awareness (very dominant) to Prophet 'Seeing' (found in strong examples in around say only 1 out of a million humans).
'Seeing' by some prophet changes in the next Group Awareness. It is the way to ensure progress in evolution by metacultural mutancy, when mutancy within a culture becomes decay. Paradigm Shift Intelligence
related to SensesThe often-used concept IQ is very limited. It focuses
as known on abstract thinking and visual perception. This way it shows a
preference for rational scientists and neglects ' feeling' (the ability to
translate sense perceptions in other than abstract notions). Only very few of the people come to realize the
web-like invisible structure of any culture. It seems to help when you suffer a
severe shock In my case that was a brain attack, leaving me largely disabled.
As a former international top-engineer I suddenly arrived in the world of
nursing homes. Even fewer of those people cause a paradigm shift.
That takes being persistent and acquiring enough status. Otherwise the result is
being ignored or ending in a mental hospital
The way of thinking dating from the old Greek before
17th century Enlightenment was called 'Imagination' (this almost
purely referred to Group Consciousness). So my opinion is (whatever model of the brain is used)
that talking about Individual Consciousness is awfully misleading. In the hard way I experienced that although there were
many shared experiences, I really had arrived in a new world with different rules.
Thoughts that in my former life had been very clever
were at once considered nonsense. My experiences in my second study in social
sciences helped me to overcome frustrations and survive. Admiration in my former dominant world was replaced by
pity in my new dominant world. People that I formerly used just to ignore,
suddenly behaved totally dominant. The gap between these two 'knowledge worlds' within the same culture was
much bigger and much more definitive than I had ever realized. But I managed to
find my place in both worlds, by adapting me every time to the differing local
consciousness. And I realized that most frustration is just coming from
refusing to honor the locally dominant rules. It works much better to honor
all rules different from yours, but temporarily keep using your own. Blueprint During evolution many Paradigmal Dimension Links of different length became
'preformatted' in our DNA.
An
example:
A
particular visual piece of information
might reach your brains repeatedly. You repeatedly observe that after turning the contact key your car starts. Your
senses divide the observed information in elementary pieces and store it
somehow. This they do in 1-or-more circuits in your brains, each belonging to
one of several areas for each sense. These areas became directly or indirectly
connected to the different senses during evolution.
After
starting, the claxon functions. This is information that I can store in a Memory Track in one of the nearby brain
areas of sound sensations, connected to the ears. When there are many Paradigmal Dimension Links the two
pieces of info have a good chance of being correlated (in theory that takes
only one link, but in practice many more). That way the visual information
'turning contact key' opens up the possibility of being actively related to a
sound experience.
There's
a lot of visual information that needs to be handled in procedures. The
pictures of the two halves of the contact key; the fact that they are similar;
the fact that the key is turned (is moving in a special way); the color; the
texture; the creation of a full picture; the recognition of the full picture;
the recognition of movement; and so on.
All
these talents for some procedure may take information from different visual brain
parts. Luckily in our DNA many Paradigmal
Dimension Links are already designed, so fresh born children only have to
learn to use most talents (like for instance almost instantly realizing that
two objects are similar). Maybe dogs can smell the speed of a car through
difference in the temperature of gasoline, but for humans that's magic. In the
same way dogs can start barking when their boss is still a mile away. They
sense something, only humans have no clue yet what that something may be. Cars drive, and driving means speed. Movement is an abstract
concept, and is stored in the most recent constructed storage area of the
human brain. To get to this model of movement requires a long Paradigmal
Dimension Link. Such links are made by rare strong brain flashes of
insight. But already early in evolution we learned to handle speed, so it is
certainly more than only concept. Redesign A lot of other in length varying
connections are made through education at home and in school. The rest is
result of exercise through continuous experience (real or simulated). Both
education and experience work through repetition.
Short and Long term
Memory: A few minutes is the minimum
length of time that neuroscientists believe is necessary to allow thought to go
from a temporary into a lasting, more easily retrievable memory. Matter of Experience: Where to store what kind of information is a matter of
experience. This practice developed during evolution. Because the formatting of
Paradigmal Dimension Links in our DNA
slowly developed, and afterward this preformatted infrastructure was extended
during life by education and experience. It is important to realize that our brains this way became very
advanced computers constructed in billions of years of evolution using only one
kind of 'stones'. These info storage units (neurons) are kept together with
some kind of brain soup. And it takes a lifetime to even partly fill its
database. Reliability first: Neurons don't really 'swim' in 'nerve glue' because
most of them are physically locked through connecting axon and dendrite to
hundreds of others. Compare such a lock two connecting two spaceships through
sucking synapses growing on their telescopic arms called axon. That allows
locking to several others, only distance is a limit (axons in our brain seem to
be no longer than a few millimeters). The result is flexible brain tissue. Flexibility: If at very early age parts of the body are missing, I
guess the corresponding parts in the brain doesn't develop any further. When parts of the body for some reason disappear, then
the brain first looks for new employment for the now jobless corresponding
parts. This relocation of scarce resources may lead to 'ghost-experiences'.
These suggest that the 'old' memories were not wiped, but that only empty space
was reallocated. Whatever 'controls' the brain is not awfully advanced. Tunnels of Wisdom Wisdom or
cross-connected info: My guess is that putting more usable info in the brain
also increases brainpower (the sum of local brain voltage). A higher local
voltage also increases the chance that a lucky lightning in the noiseless brain
'thunderstorm' is attracted. Like in a populated area lightning more often
strikes a town region. Maybe such a mind flash that way can be influenced in
direction, just like a common lightning prefers high points. Anyway it must be
stormy weather in our brains. By destroying all synapses in the chain of
neurons of its path such a mind flash creates an Paradigmal Dimension Link. Learning and
cross-connecting Aging and Dying Three things are important when aging: (1) using existing brain functions; (2) expanding experience; and (3) creating more and more Paradigmal Dimension Links. Because I suspect that first part of the brain dies and as a consequence a part of the body, not vice versa. This happens very simultaneously, so it'll take close research. Using existing brain
functions Another way of saying that you must keep in pace with
the 'rythm of the time'. If you can't than you appear old in behavior to
younger people. Dying is inevitable Summary I became convinced that in some form processors are
inevitable. But what is needed are much more clever links of information areas
than an equivalent of the central processor in a computer. And it beats my mind
what rules the working of this brain. Analogy seems to be the driving force. I also became convinced that only to STORE sense
information brains don't need any tool, everything necessary can easily be done
in the different senses. But I'm convinced that the concept 'mood' plays an
essential role. If enough Memory Tracks
are artificially triggered, then a familiar chain of happenings may occur. The reaction
to a particular mood can gradually change though. 0. Every being is a multiple sense camera. 1. Every subsense camera stores a lifelong brilliantly folded subsense movie (a cycle) in some brain lob 2. Subsense movies have limitless capacity for interconnecting (by way of Paradigmal Dimension Links) 3. Sense Movies can be compared to 'Reality' using individual Abstract Explicative Models (Abstract Pictures) 4. Reality starts Individual, but its Movies are rated by General Popularity. Nazism was a locally high rating thriller. 5. Only certain Explanations are accepted (Pictures of Reality). They can easily become addictive 6. 'Reality' is only known by association with such Abstract Pictures of Reality 7. Time relates to your brain getting filled. But the filling happens in different speeds. Time is Relative. 8. Aging is getting outdated, and that process has no necessary relation with time. So: Keep on Rolling. 9. Influence of 'the media' should be limited. Freedom of Speech is Insane.
Acknowledgement: Compare it to using Galileo's view of the world being
round, around ten years after he published this in his time challenging idea.
In the first half of the 17th century with this kind of
controversial article I would have risked ending on the stakes in name of the
Pope. So I thank millions of scientists over the ages for
taming the influence of 'popes'. Otherwise such leaders would probably have
forbidden brain surgery.
